Advantages of Membership for Title 18 Departments

Membership in the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association offers a wide array of benefits and services to our Title 18 Fire Departments for an annual fee of $100.00 for the entire Fire Protection District or Department.

Our Standing Committees are:

Each of these committees has the authority to form sub-committees to assign as needed to special tasks and studies.

  • Statewide Honor Guard.

Appointments to these committees are made by the Executive Board following the OSFA's Annual Convention and are on a request per member basis. When you want to do more than just be heard, join one of these committees and help us make things happen!

General benefits & services:

  • Lobbying for Fire Service legislation is one of the most important services you receive. This is conducted locally, statewide and at the national level.
  • Distribution point for surplus equipment (on a first-come basis, when available).
  • Availability of specialty, state-issued, Firefighter license plates (either numbered or personalized) for your vehicle or motorcycle
  • At the annual Volunteer Caucus, your voice and opinions are heard and passed on to the Executive Board. Each department may send two (2) members to represent them at the Volunteer Caucus.
  • A Title 18 department may send one (1) voting delegate to the OSFA Convention held the first full week of June each year. Your delegate will need to register before the convention deadline. Also, your delegate will have to confirm his or her registration before voting begins Saturday morning.

  • Your dues structure allows for an accidental death benefit of $1,500.00 which is delivered for immediate relief to your family within 24 hours.
  • If you are an active member of the Brent Hatcher Fund, your family will receive a minimum of $1,000.00 within 72 hours of your death.
  • And, another very important benefit is your Museum. Located at 2716 NE 50th Street in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum is the most comprehensive, member-held Firefighter Museum in the U.S. Admission to the Firefighter's Museum is free for OSFA firefighters and their family!
