Audio-Visual Library Catalog
INTRODUCTION
The Association is continuously making additions to the audiovisual library, and new titles are published in the Oklahoma Firefighter newspaper. You may update your catalog by adding new information as it is made available.
OSFA's Audio Visual Committee is responsible for keeping the Association informed of new audiovisual aids which may be purchased or donated to aid in training, public relations, and fire prevention programs. Any suggestion will be considered and your input is welcome.
SCHUEDULING: OSFA Member Fire Chiefs and Training Officers may order/reserve Videos and DVDs in advance for up to one year. There is a limit of three (3) that may be checked out at one time. Please schedule audiovisuals seven (7) days in advance of the time you will need them to allow time for shipping. Don't forget to schedule in advance for Fire Prevention week.
ORDERING: You may call: (405)424-1452 or 1-800-308-5336. You may also FAX or mail a list of audiovisuals and the dates you need to them: FAX: (405)424-1032 or MAIL: OSFA, 2716 NE 50th, Oklahoma City, OK 73111. You may also come into the office to order audiovisual material. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
MAILING: The only expense to OSFA members is return postage. The card inserted inside the mailing case can be reversed for the return mailing.
RETURNS: Please be prompt in returning audiovisual aids. Every aid mailed will contain a return slip, indicating when the material is due back in the office. There is a two (2) week time limit on materials checked out of the library. Not returning the material in a timely manner interrupts reservations by other departments. Please inform the office if additional time is needed.
DAMAGE: In the event that an audiovisual aid becomes damaged, please make a note on the return slip. Please DO NOT attempt any repairs on your own.
THANK YOU FOR REWINDING ALL VIDEOS BEFORE RETURNING.
We
hope you will utilize the audiovisual library to its fullest advantage.
We are looking forward to hearing from every department on a regular
basis.
Acknowledgement
Appreciation is
expressed to the Oklahoma Fire Chiefs Association for the continued
support of the OSFA Audiovisual Library by providing funds for the
purchase of audiovisual materials and assisting in the cost of printing
the catalog.

| TO HELL AND BACK: CYANIDE POISONING | VHS | 60 min | To Hell and Back- Cyanide Poisoning is the first comprehensive educational program to teach firefighters about the immediate and cumulative effects of cyanide toxicity- the poison of modern day fires. The People’s Burn Foundation partnered with the Cyanide Poisoning Treatment Coalition (CPTC), the nation’s leading expert in cyanide poisoning, to create this program. Through this program and joint strategic initiatives the CPTC increases awareness about the risk of fire smoke cyanide exposure to improve early recognition and appropriate treatment for firefighters and EMS personnel. The CPTC has been on the cutting edge of fire smoke cyanide exposure and treatment protocols since 2005. Unfortunately, the nation’s fire service has been slow to grasp the totality of the toxin’s impact on firefighters. Whether cyanide exposure is cumulative or instant and deadly, it is largely preventable and in many cases treatable. Appropriate recognition of the signs and symptoms of cyanide toxicity, as well as a comprehensive understanding of treatment and antidotes, is to introduce this deadly toxin to the fire service to inevitably destroy its power by changing complacent behavior on the fire ground. |
