With the OSFA's beginnings in 1894 as the Oklahoma Territory Fireman's Association, we continue to grow together and lead the way for the Oklahoma Fire Service. The members work together toward improving the delivery of our services, the safety of our people and the benefits enjoyed by volunteer & paid firefighters alike.
So, the short story is: MEMBERSHIP COUNTS!
Members join by Department and all firefighters of the department join simultaneously. There is no provision at this time for individual firefighter membership. However, please call 1-800-308-5336 (toll free) for more details.
ALL Title 11, 18 & 19 departments should seriously consider joining the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association for the benefits of being a member... that your department will experience every year!
Defending our pension and, by working with our elected officials, we present the needs of firefighters across the State of Oklahoma EVERY year before our State Legislature.
Smoke Alarms and Fire Education = SAFE Oklahoma!
SAFE Oklahoma is delivering much-needed First Alert Dual-Sensor Smoke Alarms, Lifetone Alert devices and home Fire Safety Education information at no cost to the residents of these three counties upon their request. OSU-Fire Protection Publications (OSU-FPP) has overcome the logistical challenges of bolstering local support and identifying those folks who would be willing to serve in a leadership role as a Local Field Coordinator (LFC) for each of these counties.
Owens Crossroads Fire Department was awarded the new E-One Traditions ES fire engine at the Fire Rescue International (FRI) Conference Friday, August 27th in Chicago, IL. The Luther Fire Department had been named as one of the seven finalists for the E-One, "Tell Us Your Story” Contest.
For the second consecutive year, E-ONE had asked departments throughout the United States to ‘tell us their stories’ for an opportunity to win a new Tradition ES fire truck.
The Luther Fire Department was
chosen as one of the
seven finalists out of hundreds of fire departments throughout the United
States for this opportunity.
The essay was submitted by one of our members,
Sierra Maynard.
Luther was the only fire department in Oklahoma that was a finalist in this competition. Winning this truck would have greatly improved the response time for not only Luther FD, but all of its mutual aid partners in Eastern Oklahoma County, South East Logan County and Western Lincoln County.
FireRescue1 Magazine has the full story, you can go read it here.
